Ulu Cami Leadership Principles
Personal Principles
These principles guide the behavior and mindset of all Ulu Cami board and subcommittee members:
Servant Leadership. Lead with humility and focus on serving others. Recognize that leadership is a responsibility, not a privilege.
Earn and Maintain Trust. Build trust through transparency, honesty, and consistency. Be accountable for your actions and decisions.
Embrace Islamic Values. Embody and promote Islamic principles in all interactions and decisions. Lead by example in demonstrating kindness, compassion, and ethical behavior.
Deliver Results with Integrity. Achieve meaningful outcomes for the community while upholding the highest ethical standards. Never compromise values for results.
Innovate with Purpose. Continuously seek new ways to serve the community better. Be open to fresh ideas and approaches, but ensure they align with Islamic teachings and community needs.
Community Principles
These principles shape our interactions with community members:
Community First. Always act in the best interest of the community. Consider the long-term impact of decisions on the community and future generations.
Mutual Respect. Foster an environment where diverse perspectives within the bounds of Islamic teachings are valued. Strive to create a space where all community members, regardless of their level of religiosity, feel respected and supported in their spiritual growth.
Empower and Develop Others. Invest in the growth and development of community members. Provide opportunities for learning, leadership, and personal growth.
Youth Involvement. Actively involve and empower young people in leadership roles and decision-making processes. Value their perspectives and energy.
Collaborative Spirit. Foster cooperation within the mosque and with other community organizations. Build bridges to amplify positive impact.
Organizational Principles
These principles guide the governance and operations of the board:
Transparent Governance. Maintain clear, open communication about decision-making processes, financial management, and organizational goals. Foster trust through accountability and accessibility of leadership.
Continuous Feedback. Regularly seek and act on feedback from the community. Create open channels for communication and be responsive to concerns and suggestions.
Frugality with Purpose. Use resources wisely and efficiently. Maximize the impact of donations and community contributions.
